We have Cameron Lawrence’s GTA road race car in for regular maintenance and to add a detachable splitter/wing. This is a car we built a while ago and is currently dominating the SCCA GTA class all over the country. Cameron just got back from Daytona where he broke the GTA track record by almost a second and a half.
Big Shipment in from Five Star Bodies! 4 complete ABC late model bodies to hang in the next month.
Finished all the Interior on the crate/pro car and got it rolling. We moved it to another bay where we mocked up the old roof in preparation for the new one. The Super late model which was the old house car is now sold and is getting a new body. It was cleaned tip to tail and now currently sits with both new rear quarters already mocked up.
Here are a couple pictures after bolting the engine/transmission in the car. Finished installing the tub of the interior and locating the shifter. Also built both sway bar arms and shot them with satin black along with the new panhard bar.
Starting to come together now! Rear end back together, painted and square in the car. 75% of interior mocked up, with built dash and deck bar. Brake masters and lines all installed and bled. Fire bottle installed and drivers compartment still coming together. All of this and more in the past week. Tomorrow starts a new day with beginning the engine install to hopefully have the car running by the end of the week.
Assembly time. Cockpit coming together.
The rear end came apart today and Jason found a little trouble with a bearing case. going to get everything cleaned up and put back together.
Customer chose grey on grey for this project. Powder Coater did a great job.
We previously stripped apart Mason’s Lefthander crate late model and started cleaning everything that was removed. The new crate car was tabbed out at the same time and was soon sent off to the powder coater.
Last week, two of Mason Mitchell’s Chassis showed up at the shop fresh from Port City Race Cars.
